Into is the internship management service for higher education institutions

Into is an internship management service for higher education institutions, which Funidata provides to its customers as a SaaS service. Into has been taken into production use at the Universities of Jyväskylä and Tampere.
Into service got its first production users
Into has its roots is in the Harri service, which was originally a project funded by the European Social Fund. The main implementer of the project was the University of Tampere, with the University of Turku, the University of Helsinki and Åbo Akademi University as co-implementers. Funidata took over the maintenance and further development of Harri in 2018. Harri has been used in production by the Universities of Jyväskylä and Tampere.
Funidata rewrote Harri, and thus the internship management service Into was born, which Funidata now offers as a SaaS service. The first production user of Into service is the University of Jyväskylä, which started using Into in October 2023. At the beginning of November 2023, the University of Tampere also began using Into in production. Funidata has carried out data migrations from Harri to Into for both universities. The next production user of Into will be the University of Helsinki. Into is the first Funidata service to utilize Funidata's design system Fudis.
“Into implements the benefits of digitalization in the management of higher education institution internships in an insightful way - it reduces manual work and streamlines the process. Into can be connected to all Student Information Systems, meaning that in addition to Sisu users, also higher education institutions using Peppi system have the opportunity to implement it. Hopefully, Into will find its place in the Finnish higher education field widely. Let's get excited about Into!”, comments Mikko Myllys, CEO of Funidata, delighted with the start of production use.
Into service makes it easier to manage your internships
Into has been developed to make everyday life easier for higher education institutions by centralizing all administrative work related to internships in one place. Into responds to the need for knowledge management by providing all data related to internships in a single service. In addition to internship applications and agreements, higher education institutions can use Into to manage their internship support budget and, soon, monitor its use. A report for monitoring internship subsidies has already been developed and is currently being tested by Funidata, after which it will be ready for installation in customers' test environments.
Integrations with Sisu have been built into the Into service, and Funidata is prepared to implement integrations with other systems as well. Into will be further developed in cooperation with customers. Further development will focus on making students' higher education journey even easier and responding to the processes related to various internships.
