LAB University of Applied Sciences is migrating to the Sisu Student Information System
LAB University of Applied Sciences has chosen Sisu as its Student Information System. For Funidata, this is a significant new customer and a step towards broader cooperation in the higher education sector.
LAB University of Applied Sciences has decided to switch to Funidata's cloud-based Sisu Student Information System. The Student Information System is a strategic core information system for higher education institutions, which is used to manage the student lifecycle from the right to study to graduation and lifelong learning. LAB will begin large-scale production use of Sisu during 2026, but more limited use is planned to begin already this year. The goal is to modernize LAB's study administration and improve data management, as well as to create an even better student experience for LAB's more than 10,000 students.

LAB's decision to switch to Sisu is based on its desire to offer students a smoother and more user-friendly study management experience. Sisu enables students to plan, schedule and monitor their studies throughout their degree program. The system guides students in their studies and makes guidance more transparent. Sisu has been built from the ground up with the principle of student-centeredness in mind.

The solution is a natural continuation of the development of a joint university consortium with LUT University. After the change, LUT universities will have one study system that supports cooperation between the institutions and the provision of high-quality higher education services," LAB Rector Turo Kilpeläinen commented on the decision.
