Robin Wikström appointed as Funidata’s Chief Operations Officer – new COO role strengthens the company’s operations

Robin Wikström joins Funidata as its new Chief Operations Officer. In his new role, he will be responsible for developing Funidata’s operations and processes, as well as People Operations and financial administration.

Funidata is strengthening the leadership of its operations and organisational development with a new Chief Operations Officer role. Robin Wikström has been appointed to the position and will join Funidata from WithSecure.

Wikström will take up his post on 1 October 2026 and will serve as a member of Funidata’s executive team. He will be responsible for developing operations and processes, improving their quality, as well as People Operations and financial administration.

Robin Wikström has built and scaled such operating models in an international SaaS business, while also having an exceptionally strong understanding of the Finnish higher education sector. Strong international SaaS experience and expertise in organisational development

Wikström holds a Doctor of Science (Economics and Business Administration) in Information Systems from Åbo Akademi University, where he has also conducted research into organisational development. He has around ten years of experience in business analytics, operations and organisational development in an international SaaS environment.

Wikström currently works at WithSecure as Director, Customer Success Excellence, where he is responsible for developing the Customer Success strategy and commercial operations, as well as leading global billing, order management and business support teams. Previously, he has been responsible for areas including executive and board reporting, business performance and financial management, as well as operational management. He has also led an international organisation of more than 35 people.

Throughout his career, Wikström has built operating models for data-driven management, OKR management and process development at F-Secure and WithSecure. He has also supported executive management and the board in strategic decision-making. In addition, he has board experience as an employee representative on the F-Secure Board of Directors.

Strong understanding of the higher education sector

From a COO perspective, Wikström’s key strengths include developing cross-functional operating models and processes, financial and business management, data-driven decision-making and supporting executive decision-making.

In addition to his international SaaS experience, Wikström has a strong understanding of the Finnish higher education sector. He is a Docent at Åbo Akademi University and has worked as a visiting lecturer at Aalto University and Arcada University of Applied Sciences. He has supervised doctoral and master’s theses at Åbo Akademi University and master’s theses at Aalto University.
