Jukka Mäkinen appointed to Funidata’s Board

Funidata’s Board welcomes a new member. Jukka Mäkinen brings strong expertise in the higher education sector and educational leadership.
Funidata’s owners have appointed Jukka Mäkinen, Director of Education and Learning at Tampere University, as a new member of Funidata’s Board. Mäkinen took up his role on 1 June 2026.
Jukka Mäkinen brings to the Board strong expertise in the higher education sector and educational leadership, as well as valuable insights into the use and development of Sisu. He is already very familiar with Funidata’s operations and has been actively involved in collaboration between Funidata and the Sisu higher education institutions, including as a member of the customer group.
The Chair of Funidata’s Board is professional board member Tuomo Haukkovaara, and the Deputy Chair is Ilona Ylinampa. The other members of the Board are Anu Haapala (Director of Development at the University of Helsinki), Antti Sirviö (Chief Information Officer at LUT University), Pentti Unkuri (Chief Executive Officer) and Christa Winqvist (Chief Information Officer at Aalto University). Haukkovaara, Ylinampa and Unkuri are Board members who are independent of the shareholders.
At the same time, Mari Ikonen stepped down from Funidata’s Board. She previously served as Director of Educational Services at the University of Jyväskylä and has now taken up the role of Director of International Affairs at the University of Eastern Finland. Funidata thanks Ikonen for her valuable contribution to the company’s Board work and wishes her every success in her new role.
